Their latest goal is to have their own farm and the dream is cut short because of other events in the story.In the novel, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, some of the characters show a form of loneliness just like, Candy, Crooks, and last but not least Curley’s wife. But they question the friendship between George and Lennie because their life does not have any support in it. And there is one thing you really need in life and that is friends and people suffer from loneliness and solitude, and loneliness leads to low self-esteem. Crooks is shocked by the strength of the friendship between George and Lennie because they are really close. In Of Mice and Men, Crooks said,†Well, suppose, jus’ s’pose he doesn’t come back. What’ll you do then?†(79).And he asks those questions because he does not have any friends, and he was just curious about George and Lennie’s friendship.
